This week we learned about the four parts of creativity: F2OE-Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, and Elaboration. The kids practiced by thinking of as many different uses for scissors as possible (Fluency), other uses for scissors-besides cutting (flexibility), a completely new tool to cut things (originality), and ways to make scissors better (elaboration). We also worked on brainstorming as many creations for our bubble page as possible. So much creativity!
Later on, we learned about variables and how to solve number sentences with variables, such as 2 + a + a = 4. The kids used balance scales to help find the solutions. They did a great job! We also stretched our logical thinking with Mystery Pictures, involving coloring certain points using ordered pairs. Take a look outside our classroom to see the mystery revealed.
We practiced our new found chess skills during station time. That was a big hit this week!
Enjoy your Spring Break!
