We worked on some challenging concepts today!
Unit Study:
We created a map of the first 4 places that Amelia lived. The kids marked the spots on their world maps. We also watched a BrainpopJr. video about reading maps. The kids tried measuring the distance between cities Amelia lived in and figuring out the miles by using the Map Scale. It was tough! We'll continue that next week with a new map.
Next we learned about Flight by watching part of a "Billy Nye" video. The kids learned that air pressure provides lift that keeps the plane in the air.
The kids were super excited to learn how to make their own paper airplanes. After we made them, we tested them outside. It was so much fun!
Later, the kids continued their classifying with "Sybil's Loony Limpets". They did a great job!
Until next time,
Dr. Kraeger
