Convergent Thinking Skills
We worked on Venn Plexors, the kids are almost at mastery level on these. We also stretched our logical and mathematical skills with a Versatiles activity about math patterns.
Divergent Thinking Skills
We stretched our creativity with a February F2OE. The kids really came through with some original ideas!
Algebraic Thinking Skills
We continued our algebra work today with Hands On Equations. Our new students are making great progress, learning a new legal move today! This will definitely help them solve new equations! Our returning students are working their way through using “Convenient Zeros” in different ways to help them solve equations. See if your kiddo can explain what a “Convenient Zero” is.
Novel Study
We read more of Way to Stay in Destiny. Theo has found himself a friend, who likes baseball as much as he does. He might be getting himself into trouble with the Baseball Project though! The kids challenged their critical thinking with "Turn & Talks" and a Kahoot Survey.
Affective Skills
We learned more about Fixed vs. Growth Mindset with a portion of a Ted Talk. Then we brainstormed ways to overcome roadblocks to a Growth Mindset.
Unit Study
Our movie making continues with Preproduction Planning. We decided on a Theme and Tone for our movie. In order to make these decisions, we watched, "We are Hungry". We also considered what jobs there would be in our project, and which might appeal to us.
