Algebraic thinking:
We got back into the swing with Hands On Equations today. The kids learned some new concepts that will help them to solve more challenging equations.
Stations:
We used our divergent thinking skills to SCAMPER a backpack. The very creative results are hanging in our classroom. Our convergent thinking skills helped us to solve a logic puzzle and also an analogy with Synonyms and Antonyms. Most of the kids need some practice on this skill, so we'll be working on it more.
Novel Study:
We read a few more chapters of our novel, My Side of the Mountain. We discovered that Sam had a VERY rough start on his running away journey. We also learned a few important survival tips from our book.
Unit Study:
We formed groups for our Survivor Research project, which is due March 6th. Look for a detailed project overview and checklist coming home today for your signature. These will be returned next week, so we can hold on to them for grading the finished projects. The kids also have a copy of the Checklist to keep in their notebooks. We began some researching using the Target Glog.
Affective Skills:
We continued our Mindfulness Practice with Mindful Bell. The kids LOVE this one.
