Unit Study:
We used our evaluative thinking and collaboration skills to rank a list of survival tools from most to least important to survive in the winter in Northern Canada. We also collaborated and used critical thinking skills to solve the "Noodling Around" Challenge. The kids did amazing on this one! Excellent teamwork!
Algebraic Thinking:
The kids jumped right back into Hands on Equations for a lesson to prepare for new concepts next time. Great work!
Stations:
We used divergent thinking to solve an F2OE. I just love their creativity! So incredible! They worked their convergent thinking by solving a choice of logic puzzles. Most did very well the first try!
Affective Skills:
We watched a fascinating video about Diana Nyad's first attempt to swim from Cuba to Key West at age 60. The kids loved hearing about her Extreme Dream! They followed up with some reflections on facing obstacles and how to keep trying.
We continued our Mindfulness Practice.
Novel Study:
We enjoyed a few chapters of our book and learned what a woodland Halloween Party looks like and how to deal with hunters.
Until next time,
