Genius Hour Project Time was fantastic! Today we worked on peer coaching on our projects. The kids will be showed each other what they've completed so far on their projects, so the peer coaching pair could offer constructive criticism and feedback. The partnerships worked so well that some pairs stayed together to continue the collaboration during Project work time! Well done!
Algebraic Thinking:
Hands-On-Equations is full-steam-ahead. The new students are making great strides in their algebraic understanding. The returning students are working on using negative numbers and combing negative numbers with variables in equations. Way to go!
Convergent & Divergent Thinking:
The Station Rotation was right on track! We continued our work on logic puzzles and syllogism problems for convergent thinking. We worked on divergent thinking with a F2OE (Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, & Elaboration).
Self-Reflection:
We continued our Mindfulness Moments with a guided relaxation titled, Breath Awareness. The kids have embraced this Mindfulness Practice. We hope they will use this when they need it in the future.
Novel Study:
We continued our reading of Operation Yes with things heating up! Gari will be arriving soon, Bo is trying to stay out of trouble. We had a good conversation about this quote: "Be kind...everyone is fighting a great battle." We also had fun being creative with another improv activity!
HW: Edmodo Assignment-Genius Hour Project Update: Describe how your project plan is coming along. Is your plan completed? What have you done already to get started on the first steps of your project? How are you feeling about your project--excited, happy, nervous, anxious, worried, waiting in anticipation...? Tell us about it!
Can't wait for next week,
Mrs. Kraeger
