Next, we worked on our Poetry project. The kids met Mrs. Kindschy in the Media Center and we recorded each child reciting a poem. I can't wait to get the poems hung up on the big tree next to the Music Room. It will be our "Poetree"! We are using an augmented reality app, Aurasma, to create a Poetry Slam right there on our "Poetree"!
Directions for Aurasma:
Starting next Monday, you can stop by the school and see a video of your child reading his/her poem at the "Poetree". All you need to do is get the free app, Aurasma, on your phone or tablet. Then, you can go to your account in Aurasma and follow our channel. Just search for MtBTarget (type EXACTLY like that-caps matter) and "Follow" us. Now, come to school with your phone or tablet, go to the Big Tree painting, open your Aurasma app, and point the viewfinder on your child's poem. You should see his/her video start playing. ENJOY!
Later, we worked on our last lesson in Hands On Equations. This focused on how to draw out solutions to equations, so we can figure them out without using our pieces. The kids did well!
We also squeezed in some logical thinking and a creativity building activity too! Whew!!! I'm sure they're ready for some downtime this afternoon!
HW: First in Math--Last Awards for this year!
See you next Tuesday!
