Convergent Thinking:
We worked on analogies, logic puzzles, and some clock arithmetic to dust off our convergent thinking skills. The kids did a great job on a pretty tough logic puzzle!
Novel Study/Affective:
We read a bit more of our novel and talked about the ways Millie shows perseverance in the story.
Self-Directed Learner:
We worked on setting some short and long term goals for this year. During this lesson, we also practiced a guided visualization of reaching one of these goals. We will continue to work on mindfulness in class this year. Research shows it can reduce stress, anxiety, and impulsivity in children. I hope they will learn to use these practices to help them feel calm and relaxed whenever they need it.
RBQ:
We shared the last of our Research Projects from last quarter.
HW: Write a paragraph about the steps you'll take to reach one of your goals.
Until next week,
Mrs. Kraeger
