Unit Study:
We learned more about coding events and then practiced those skills on Code.org with "Flappy Birds". They LOVED the challenge!
Next, they programmed their robots to dance. Check out the photos below and video on Seesaw!
Novel Study:
We finished the book! The kids loved the ending! Many are talking about wanting to read the sequel. Great idea for Summer Reading!
Stations:
The kids used their convergent thinking to solve a tough Cryptogram from our novel. Whew! That was hard work! We also started work on a Computer SCAMPER. We'll finish that next time.
Affective:
We read a book about engineering, Rosie Revere-Engineer. The kids did a good job writing about connections to our unit and also character trait connections between Rosie and themselves-especially perseverance!
Algebraic Thinking:
We moved on to the last concept for the year and Level 1 of Hands On Equations--using parentheses in equations. It was challenging, so we'll work on it more next week.
Target Class will be Thursday next week because of Milestone Testing.
HW: Finish Cryptogram
Until next time,
Dr. Kraeger
