Stations:
We stretched our convergent thinking skills with a more challenging logic puzzle today. The kids did a very good job with this! Then we worked on our critical thinking skills by doing some activities about our novel study. Finally, we engaged our divergent thinking skills to be CREATIVE! We worked on a fun F2OE task. Ask your child what that means. We also tapped those Fluency skills by thinking about Olympic Events, Athletes, Sports, and Sponsors. Some have taken this task home to finish up. We'll be playing a game called "Scratch" with this paper next week in class.
Novel Study:
We read more of our book, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. The kids beg to read more. I can't wait until the action starts to heat up! The Scholastic book order will be in later this week, so we'll have those books for next week's class. We also worked on an "Observation Game" to prepare for our Mystery Unit.
Algebraic Thinking:
We continued our work with functions to expand to growing patterns. Take a look at our "Hexagon Dragons" in the photos below.
HW: Play the Observation Game at home.
Until next week,
Dr. Kraeger
