We had a great day of learning in Target this week!
Convergent Thinking:
We continued our work on logic puzzles and added a new twist with Versatiles. This is a hands-on activity that allows children to use convergent and critical thinking skills to solve problems by moving tiles to create a solution picture that is self-checking. The kids LOVED it!
We stretched our convergent thinking with more study of attributes. The kids did a great job with their Attribute Homework! We worked on "Ring Puzzles" to test our knowledge of attributes. The kids are getting a good foundation with these concepts to move forward to more challenging concepts.
Divergent thinking:
Our creativity got a good workout with some story writing. We read a pattern book called That's Good, That's Bad! The kids followed this by creating their own stories using a Good News, Bad News template. Good work using your imaginations kiddos!
Finally, we used our convergent thinking to solve a mystery in our book, Detective LaRue, Letters from the Investigation. The kids did a wonderful job of paying attention to the clues and putting them together to solve the mystery.
HW: Choose another family member and find 3 attributes you share.
Until next time,
Dr. Kraeger
