Convergent thinking:
We used our convergent thinking skills to solve a mystery in "Encyclopedia Brown's The Burgled Baseball Cards" video. The kids really enjoyed the video! The kids listened for clues as we went along to solve the mystery before the end.
During our stations, we worked on Attribute Ring Puzzles again. They are getting increasingly harder, but he kids keep solving them! Good work!
Algebraic Thinking:
We extended our work with variables to solve simple number sentences. Some were pretty tough, but we kept at it until we got it done! We also explored balanced equations with our "Math Balance Scales". This is important work to get ready for algebraic thinking.
Divergent Thinking:
We learned the 4 elements of creative thinking today- F2OE: Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, and Elaboration. The kids practiced by thinking about what might be found in a kitchen. They came up with a list of 39 items for our fluency section! Great work!
Affective:
We reviewed our Multiple Intelligences graphs from last week and did a summary sheet that was included in their Target notebooks.
We also shared homework about how we use our multiple intelligences.
We also practiced our mindfulness with a Moment called Soaking in the Sunshine.
HW: Write/Draw as many green things as you can in 5-10 minutes.
Yours,
Mrs. Kraeger
