Because of Georgia Milestone testing, we had a different schedule on Friday, so I only had a short time with my wonderful first graders! We managed to squeeze in some great learning though!
Convergent Thinking:
We stretched our logical thinking with some puzzles. These are stepping stones to the types of logic puzzles that older students work on. I was pleased that the kids were able to solve these quickly using the clues provided. Great job!
Divergent Thinking:
We worked again on developing our divergent or creative thinking skills with some brainstorming. The kids also worked on transforming bubbles into various creations. Check out their creativity outside the classroom!
HW: Play 20 Questions to practice convergent thinking. Write down what is your "good" question during the game? Examples of "Good" questions in the classroom include: Does it have rainbow colors? Is it made of paper? Can I play with it? Is it hanging on the wall? Good questions help to narrow down the possibilities by eliminating many wrong choices.
