What a fantastic, exciting, and marvelous Target Journey we've had!

This week's learning activities-
Unit:
We had a few more minutes of fun with our Cardboard Arcade. Phoebe's Photo Booth was especially delightful!  Check out the pictures below!

We finished our Backyard Brawls with some epic critical and evaluative thinking!  These kids are so creative in their strategies!

Stations:
We solved a Creativity Cryptogram and created Acrostic Poems about Target.  They are clever, sweet, and funny!  The kids enjoyed a choice of games for divergent and convergent thinking skills.  We also had a blast playing a class Kahoot!

I will miss this group so much next year!  I know they're going to be amazing in Middle School!  Those teachers are going to love them!

It's been an absolute pleasure working with these incredible kiddos over the years.  Thank you for supporting us in this journey together!

Always Yours,
Dr. Kraeger

What a fantastic and exciting day it was!

Unit Study:
The kids had a blast playing each others' Cardboard Arcade Games!  They are so clever and creative!  Our Remote Learners shared photos/videos of their games.  We will play these games for a short period next Thursday.

Algebraic Thinking:
Well, each group did a marvelous job finishing up for the year.  Group 1 finished Level 2 and Group 2 almost finished Level 3.  I've only had one class in seven years get to the end of Level 3.  So these kids should be proud of their accomplishment!

Evaluative Thinking:
We played "Backyard Brawl" which is an evaluative thinking game.  The students choose a character from one of the books we've read in GR4 or GR5.  Each character comes with 2 Super Powers and 1 Weakness.  They are randomly assigned to debate who will win given the Powers/Weaknesses they have.  A third student acts as Judge for the "Brawl".  We got about halfway through today and will pick up next week.  They did well!

If your child has a Hands On Equations kit at home, you may drop it off at school anytime between now and May 26th.  Kits with more than one missing piece will need to be replaced at a cost of $5 per kit.

What fun we had creating and building this week in Target!

The kids spent a couple of hours finishing their Cardboard Challenge Projects.  I can't wait for the kids to play each other's games next Thursday!  It's going to be a blast!

Algebraic Thinking:
The kids are working their way through Hands On Equations Level 2 (Ms. Rhone's group) and Level 3 (My group).  Ms. Rhone's group finished Level 2 this week.  Yippee!  My group is up to Lesson 22 out of 25.  They really want to finish the program, but we'll see if they can get it done in time.  They surprise me all the time!

Stations:
The kids used their convergent thinking skills to solve a choice of Grid Logic or Perplexor.  They did well, even though the puzzles were harder than last time!  Then they worked on the May F2OE.  I am forever amazed with the level of creativity these kids bring to their work!  They are so clever!

No HW
jTarget Class will be on Thursday next week.
Until next time,
