Algebraic Thinking:
We jumped back into our regular Hands On Equations lessons by starting negative numbers. The kids were so excited to use the Green Cubes!
Unit Study:
We researched shelters and how to build them. Next time, we'll be building a model shelter and testing it against simulated rain and wind. We'll see how it goes! Later, we watched a movie. While watching, the kids focused on whether their character would survive, how the character felt during challenging moments, traits that helped the character survive, and advice to the character. They had a blast!
Exciting News! We are taking a field trip to Red Top Mountain on Wednesday, November 10th. So sorry for the short notice, but I just got the confirmation from Red Top last Wednesday. Permission slips are coming home today. I will also attach to CTLS Parent. Please send the Permission Slip and donation for the Field Trip back as soon as you can because of our short timeline. Since our class is small, we have room for several Parent/Grandparent Chaperones. The cost is $5 for Park Entrance Fee. If you're interested in being a chaperone, just add a note to the Permission Slip and include the $5 with your donation for your child. The weather looks good for our Trip. The bus will leave Chalker at around 9:30am. We plan to eat lunch at the Park. We'll be back to Chalker by 1:30 or so. Your child can bring a lunch or get a sack lunch from the Cafeteria. Chaperones are welcome to bring a lunch too!
Until next time,
Dr. Kraeger
