We had a mixed up day today, and it was a lot of fun!  We finished up our Frog retests, and we're almost all ready to go!

We enjoyed our "Pop & Read" today with more from our novel, Ungifted.  We'll read a bit more next week and just might get it finished!  If not, the kids will be bringing them home next week.

Remember that we'll be bringing "Froggy" snacks next week.  Get creative with the Frog theme!  Finger foods are great!  If your snack does require plates/spoons/forks, etc for serving, please send those along as well!  Thanks!

Field Trip Info
Please make sure that Field Trip forms come back in signed ASAP! Kids can stop by to drop it off Friday or Monday.  Just leave it in the blue tray in my room.

Kids should bring a big shirt to wear over their clothes for the dissection.  Put it in a plastic grocery bag, just in case it gets a bit wet or messy during the dissection.

BEHAVIOR:  FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD, ANY INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR WILL RESULT IN THE PARENTS OF THE CHILD BEING CALLED TO COME AND PICK HIM/HER UP AT WHEELER HIGH SCHOOL.

THIS SHOULD BE A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR ALL.  FIRST AND FOREMOST WE WANT ALL OF OUR STUDENTS SAFE AT ALL TIMES.

Can't wait for next week!

Fabulous Frogs!

We had a very "FROGGY" day!  Here's a run-down of the day's activities and what's coming up!

We took our Frog Test.  Most did very well, meeting the cut-off of 20/25 correct needed to attend the Dissection Field Trip.  A few have to study a bit more and take a requiz.  Students may stop in to any of the Target rooms in the morning before announcements to retake the quiz.  If that's not convenient, a retest will be offered on Thursday in class.

We finished our presentations, and boy were they great!  I was amazed at the variety of project formats and at the incredible depth of knowledge displayed.  Way to go Fifth Graders!

I have successfully uploaded almost all the Frog Posters and the project links for our "Frog Gallery".  This is an augmented reality experience powered by the app, Aurasma.  I'll send an email on Thursday with directions on how parents can visit the Target Hall and view our "Frog Gallery".

Don't forget that we'll be doing a "Pop & Read" on May 8th.  The kids will get to enjoy more of our novel and perhaps read a book of their choice as well.  It should be a fun, relaxing time!

HW: Return Field Trip permission slip.  Bring a "Pop-Top" drink for our "Pop & Read" on May 8th.

Unhappy to be almost done with my wonderful 5th graders!

Fifth grade was the year I learned all about dolphins, read EVERY Beverly Cleary book, and made brownies from scratch. YUM!
