Unit Study:
We watched a new video: "Crash Course-The Dawn of Video Games". The kids were amazed at how gigantic the first computers were and how boring the early video games were. Pong, anyone? Next, we went to the computer lab to research more about more facets of video games and their development.
Affective Skills:
We continued our Mindfulness Practice with "2 Minute Mindfulness" and "Calm Down Your Amygdala". The kids enjoyed learning how to turn negative perspectives into positive perspectives.
Our affective lesson today focused on our goals for the FAR future, "What would you want people to say about you at your 80th Birthday Party?". The answers were insightful and say a lot about their inner selves.
Stations:
We challenged our convergent thinking skills with a choice of logic puzzles- a Grid Style or a Perplexor. They LOVED having the choice today, so we'll continue that way of differentiating their learning! We also honed our divergent thinking with a September F2OE. The responses were so clever.
Novel Study:
We read a bit more of our novel, challenging our critical thinking skills with a Kahoot game as we read. It was so much fun!
No Homework, enjoy the Fall Break!
Until next time,
Dr. Kraeger
