Affective Skills:
We extended the "Dreams" lesson by delving into Women Who Dared, a book about 52 women who lived big dreams to make a difference in the world. This is also to honor National Women's Month this March and International Women's Day on March 8th. The kids will continue their mini research project and then evaluate how their chosen woman impacted the world. These evaluations will be shared via Flipgrid next week. Stay tuned for a link, so you can check them out!
Algebraic Thinking:
We continued our Hands On Equations lessons, and it's getting challenging around here! The kids are working so hard, they say their heads hurt! That's a good thing, right?!
Stations:
We stretched our convergent thinking with a logic puzzle and an analogy. These were a bit harder than the kids thought at first. Hmm...maybe we need to get out a thesaurus and bone up on some vocabulary? They also used critical and evaluative thinking to respond to their reading from Operation Yes.
Unit Study:
We finished our class time for working on the Genius Hour Projects. Projects will be shared next week, Wednesday, in two sessions with our Target class. The kids can work on their projects at home, as needed, before they present next week.
Novel Study:
We read a bit more of our novel, with one of our characters getting some bad news. Then, our main character came to the rescue with an excellent piece of Improv! It was SOOO exciting, and it worked! The kids had a fantastic time playing "Questions Only" Improv after we finished reading. They crushed it! So many creative responses!
HW: Edmodo- Book Question
Remember Target is on Wednesday next week.
Until next time,
