Unit Study:
The kids worked hard to finish their research about survival on the Oregon Trail. Most groups printed their documents to bind into Survivor Handbooks. The Handbooks are filled with information, hopefully it's helpful for our Trip on the Oregon Trail!
We tried another Tribal Challenge today, "A Little Bit Dicey". The kids had a blast trying various clever ideas to successfully complete the challenge. Lots of fun!
Algebraic Thinking:
We started applying our Hands on Equations concepts with Word Problems. The first few will be easy to help us understand the format and strategies of solving these problems. We'll move up to more challenging problems next time.
Affective Skills:
We dove into Mission Statements by reviewing a few examples to compare and contrast. The kids also evaluated them for best fit with their own personal goals.
We continued our Mindfulness Practice with "Relaxing into Tranquility". Perfect for a rainy Wednesday!
Stations:
We stretched our convergent thinking with a Fallen Phrase puzzle. Very challenging! We also used our divergent thinking skills to transform a hatchet. Check out the creative results in the photos below!
Until next time,
