We got back to business after the LONG break from SNOW JAM2! The kids jumped back into their frog studies full force! We researched more about why frogs are vanishing with an Animal Planet video. We also spent some time with Mrs. Kindschy learning about nonfiction text features that may be helpful in our research. Finally, we did some preliminary research on some basic frog questions.
We worked on divergent & convergent thinking with our Station Rotation. Their skills are coming along! HW: Google Doc-Question #3. Go to the Media Center Blog, Class Projects, 4th & 5t

We were BUSY today with our usual work and some exciting new research! Some of our fourth graders ran a few laps at recess to expend a bit of their EXTRA ENERGY. I'm looking forward to equally high energy directed to our research next week!
Algebraic Thinking: We continued our mathematical learning with more word problems solved using our Hands-On-Equations and algebraic thinking. Divergent Thinking: We put on our creative thinking caps by writing about our newly created Olympic Sports. The kids came up with so many fun, unique, and interesting sports. Focus Study: We immersed ourselves in our Frog Unit today with a lesson on questions and the research process led by our Media Specialist Mrs. Kindschey. We've chosen the frogs each will research and have an assignment to get working on. Check out the "Frog Research" on our Target Glog for LOTS more information. HW: Finish any incomplete work, Complete Google Doc on Media Center Blog, Click on Class Projects, 4th and 5th Grade Frog Project. Mrs. Kraeger |
