Bridge Building is still going strong this week! We continued our experimentation with more challenging bridge forms this week. Check out the results below: The kids worked in groups to create unique bridge designs for our final building project next week. The results should be very interesting and innovative!
We also worked our convergent and divergent thinking skills with a Logic Puzzle and creative problem solving task. Later we tackled more algebraic thinking with distance word problems. Finally, we finished our day with more work on "The Perfect Square". The kids seem to be getting a lot out of these lessons! May 19th will be our last Target Day for 4th grade. Until then, Dr. Kraeger We kept up our Bridge Adventure by finishing our research with a video and studying our Bridge Building Manual for diagrams about load, tension, and compression. The kids tested structures and stability by building beam and truss bridges with K'Nex. They did a great job with excellent critical thinking and collaboration! We worked on logical thinking with a logic puzzle and a jigsaw puzzle. Later, we tackled algebraic thinking with some word problems. We also used divergent thinking to SCAMPER Bridges. I can't wait to take a look at the creativity ideas! Take a look at the finished bridges: HW: Edmodo Bridge Question
Until next time, Dr. Kraeger |
