We had a most delightful and wonderful day with these sweet kiddos!  They finished their gifted movies and shared them our Cobb County Supervisor of Advanced Learning Programs, Sarah Kessel.

Look for these movies to be on YouTube soon!  The kids did a great job!

We also worked on our convergent thinking skills with a card game called "Set".  Later we read more of our book, House of Robots.  We didn't get it finished, but I know the kids will finish it lickety-split on their own!

Check out the photos of our day:
Have a fantastic summer!

Yours,

Movies & More!

The kids worked incredibly hard on their movies today.  We held a whole class "Pre-Screening" to get useful feedback and help with final editing and other details.

Our convergent thinking skills got a workout with Lessons 16 & 17 from Code.org.  The kids are almost near the end of Level 2!  We also challenged our brains with some robot programming in "Advanced Field Maneuvers".  The robots were programmed to move through a student-created obstacle course.  Check out the photos here:
We read more of House of Robots.  Sammy & his best pal Trip are changing a LOT as the story goes on.  Big NEWS!!! E, the robot is MISSING!  We can't wait to find out what happens next!

No HW this week!  May 18th is our last week of Target classes for this year.

Until then,

Our third grade movie makers hit the ground running this week!  They completed storyboards, created task lists, scouted locations, wrote interview questions, and started filming!  Whew!!!  They were BUSY!  They were really polishing up their organizational, evaluative, and collaborative skills.  I saw so much creativity, as their ideas began to take shape!

We finished our last algebra lesson for the third grade curriculum of Level 1-Hands-On-Equations.  The kids have done a super job with these concepts and will be ready to start the next level in fourth grade!

Later, we worked on our coding with an unplugged lesson about "events" in video games or other programs.

Finally, we did some reading in our novel, House of Robots.  We predicted what the "Secret Plan" would be and then found out the truth.  It was pretty funny and VERY effective!

HW:  Edmodo-House of Robots question

Until next week,

My favorite 3rd Grade memories are reading really good books and camping overnight with the Girl Scouts.
