We had an outstanding day in Target! Here's a rundown of all the exciting learning we did:
Convergent Thinking:
We jumped back into our logic puzzles to test our convergent thinking skills. The kids exceeded my expectations on the beginning puzzles, so we'll be ready for more challenging work next week! We also enjoyed a fun word game called, "Link Winks". Ask your child how that works!
Algebraic thinking:
Our mathematical brains got a workout with more practice on input/output. The kids extended their learning by applying this strategy to ages in their families. Great job on this!
Affective:
We finished up our notebook basics with Class Norms and "Tickets to Success"-ways we can reach our goals. Then we switched gears to work on sorting some character traits cards. It will be interesting to see what the kids think as we learn more about each of these important traits and how they help us in life.
We also continued our reading of Be a Perfect Person in Three Days. Poor Milo has to wear a stalk of broccoli to school to try to become perfect!
Focus Study:
We kicked off our Imagination Challenge unit with a fantastic video about a 9 year old boy. This led us right into our brainstorming for the Cardboard Challenge, which will be held in the first part of October. More details coming soon! In the meantime, start saving cardboard boxes, old CDs, egg cartons, pretty much anything your child could use to build with.
