We had a whirlwind of activity today!

We started off with logic puzzles to work our convergent thinking skills.  The kids are getting stronger in their abilities to work these puzzles independently.

Then we moved on to work on our vocabulary with more from Weighty Word.  Our word of the week was Geriatrics.

We finished up our Character Traits badges.  The kids worked hard to create images of each trait.  Can't wait to start using these badges.

Finally, we made tremendous progress on our movie project.  Most of the interviews were finished, we had some fantastic ideas for funny moments to add, and came up with wonderful jokes to liven up the movie.  It's going to be AMAZING!

We had a wonderful, excitement-filled day!

We started with Perplexors & Logic puzzles to work on our convergent thinking.  That went very well!

Next, we moved onto Preproduction activities for our "Cardboard Creations" class movie.  Wow, were the kids engaged!  This project involves critical, evaluative, and divergent thinking.  It also works on relationships/connections, communication, logical thinking, self-direction, and of course-collaboration!  We divided up the preproduction tasks and everybody was busy getting their part done.  This will truly be a collaborative effort!  We'll be hosting a Premier Party in December.  More details to come!

Our pre-algebra skills were put to the test again with our "Triplets" game.  Everyone did well, with some finishing the assessment already!

We worked on our vocabulary and also prepared some Character Trait Badges for our class display and ongoing character work.  Each week, students can nominate a classmate for showing one of the character traits.  The nominated student will get to wear the badge and have his/her photo taken for display on our Character Virtues bulletin board.  Looking forward to recognizing some outstanding character traits in this class!

My favorite 3rd Grade memories are reading really good books and camping overnight with the Girl Scouts.
