Our second Coding lesson went very well with kids making good progress. We talked about different types of algorithms, including one for making paper airplanes. It was interesting to see how different the kids' airplanes were, even though they all "followed" the same set of directions or algorithms. Here are the airplane test flights:
Convergent/Algebraic Thinking:
We worked our convergent thinking with two kinds of logic puzzles. They were pretty challenging, so we'll tackle some similar problems next week to build our skills.
Hands-On-Equations was great this week! The kids did VERY well with our algebra lesson, really getting the hang of the new way to solve equations with "Legal Moves". Can't wait to see what they do next week!
Affective:
We continued our Mindfulness Practice with 4-7-8 Breathing. The kids are making good progress on using these techniques to relax and focus.
We dug into Sammy's Robot disaster with more of House of Robots. He's still trying to sort out how to deal with the school bully and his crazy Robot Brother or BroBot!
HW: Edmodo Questions
Until next week,
