Unit Study:
We tested the brown ink and mystery powders found at the scene. We also test the fibers found at the scene to see whose sweater they matched. The kids analyzed all their evidence to finally solve the mystery of "Felix Navidad"!
Stations:
We read another couple of words from Weighty Word--Kleptomaniac and Laxity. Ask your child what they mean, I bet they'll give a great answer! Their Visual Images of their Vocabulary. Take a look at all the wonderful work so far in the photos below!
We gave our algebraic and convergent thinking a workout with "CSI Math Mystery-Santa's Missing Sleigh". The kids were quick to realize which suspects could be eliminated, which cut down on the problems to solve. Great work!
Later, we used our convergent thinking skills in "Ugly Christmas Sweater" logic. We also used our algebraic thinking to create Holiday Mystery Pictures.
Finally, we used problem solving and collaboration to finish our "Holiday Minute-To-Win-It" games. The kids did a fantastic job coming up with good ways to solve the problem tasks! They are a clever bunch! The fun was contagious! Love it when we can incorporate our gifted standards into such fun, hands-on learning experiences!
Enjoy your Holiday Break! Wishing you and your family all good things for the New Year!
