We worked on a new creativity activity today-F2OE: Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, Elaboration. I was impressed with the kids' elaboration skills!
Convergent & Algebraic Thinking:
We took a Benchmark Pretest, so we can see how much growth in algebraic and convergent thinking we have this semester. Can't wait to take a look and see where the kids are at. This will help us set up some flexible groups for logical thinking and Hands-On-Equations.
We also tried "Link Winks" again. The kids love these rhyming word puzzles!
Novel Study/Affective:
We're moving along with our book. Millie is still afraid of reading aloud and of selling subscriptions to win the bicycle. She hasn't given up yet, but hasn't made a sale. We discussed how perseverance can help us reach our goals in life.
HW: Draw a scene of a time you did something you were afraid to do or nervous about. Include a caption and some speech bubbles.
See you next week!
