It was a wonderful year in Target!

Unit Study:
We finished our Robot Missions with "Mission 10-Reconnaissance".  The kids programmed their robots to record information as secret spies in the classroom.  It was a blast!

We enjoyed an End of the Year Kahoot game.  After only 2 Kahoot games, these kids are pros!

Stations:
I loved the creativity the kids showed in their Robot Costumes.  Check them out in photos below!  The kids used their convergent thinking skills to solve their hardest logic puzzle ever!  They crushed it!

Later on we had lots of fun playing convergent or divergent thinking games.  What a great way to end our Target year!

Have a marvelous summer!
Until next year,

We had so much incredible learning in Target today!

Unit Study:
The kids finished Course 2 on Code.org.  They are welcome to explore other courses on their own. All are free and need no registration, so the kids can choose what they want to try out.  They also learned about how robots are used in Search/Reconnaissance missions.  After this, they programmed their own robots to retrieve a treat!  Good work kiddos!

Stations:
They used their convergent thinking to solve a logic puzzle and their divergent thinking to create solutions for SCAMPER a Computer.  Their work is so creative and clever!  Check it out below!

Novel Study:
We finished our book last week, but we learned how to play Kahoot! this week.  We answered critical thinking questions about our novel in the Kahoot! game.  The kids absolutely loved it and actually remembered quite a bit, even from the beginning of the semester!

Algebraic Thinking:
We finished Hands On Equations last week, so we enjoyed some Math Game Time!  The kids had a blast learning and playing different math games.

Target is on Friday again next week.

HW:  Finish Logic and/or SCAMPER
Until next time,

What a blast these kids had today!

Unit Study:
We continued our coding with "Play Lab".  The kids loved creating different game effects on Code.org.

Later, they created obstacle courses in the room using books, mini whiteboards, clipboards, chairs and more.  Then they programmed their robots to move through the Obstacle Courses.  Wow!  They had amazing success!  Check it out in the photos below!

Stations:
The kids used their creative thinking to make one choice on the SCAMPER a Computer.  They'll finish the creations next week.  Then they used their convergent thinking to play a variety of logical thinking games, ending with a class game of Boggle.  They did a fantastic job, finding more than 12 words each round!  Finally, they created new endings to our novel, House of Robots.  They were a hoot!  These kiddos are so clever!

Algebraic Thinking:
We ended our day with our last Hands on Equations lesson for the year.  The kids have done a marvelous job mastering this challenging curriculum.

HW:  Finish New Ending

Until next time,
Dr. Kraeger

My favorite 3rd Grade memories are reading really good books and camping overnight with the Girl Scouts.
