In between, we worked on our convergent thinking skills a bit with a logic puzzle. This one was the most challenging we've done yet. Many of the kids had to make revisions today.
We read more of our novel today, created poems about our main characters, learned about story elements, and identified the story elements in our book. At the end of the day, we read some of chapter 9 and played Kahoot! Ghost Version against last year's 3rd grade class. They were a tough act to beat, with the winning score remaining Aarsheya from last year. Check out the screen shots to see 2nd and 3rd place go to this year's superstars. The kids love this game to challenge their inferencing, evaluative thinking, and knowledge of complex vocabulary.
Remember that Target won't be meeting on November 28th because of Gifted Eligibility Testing. I'll see the kids back again on December 5th.
