Unit Study:
We made excellent progress on our "Crime Scene"! The kids analyzed the samples of drinks from the Crime Scene to determine the pH of each compared to a regular Coke. They also analyzed the water from the melted ice cubes to test its pH. Felix's Coke had a different pH than the regular Coke and Alfredo's Coke. Also, the Ice Cube water was not a neutral 7 pH as we would expect. Very suspicious! The kids solved the encoded note found at the Crime Scene. It revealed some highly incriminating evidence! Finally, we studied the footprints found at the Crime Scene and compared with the shoes each suspect was wearing. More evidence to add to our case!
Novel Study:
We finished Enola Holmes and the Missing Marquess. The kids loved the graphic novel format I found on Kindle!
Stations:
We read two more stories from Weighty Word-Geriatric and Heresy. The kids did a great job creating clear images to represent these words! Check out our Visual Vocabulary Wall in the photos below!
We used our algebraic thinking skills to solve a variety of math problems in our Math Stars. The kids dug deep to show their creativity in the December F2OE. This shows their Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, and Elaboration. They did a great job!
HW: Finish any incomplete classwork
Until next time,
