Unit Study:
Our coding continued with more work on using Loops. The kids worked VERY hard to complete 14 challenging activities in this Lesson! They did a great job of collaborating as needed! After that, they used their knowledge of loops to program their robots for the "Night Surveillance" Mission. It was a blast to see the robots move around with their lights on, checking for intruders.
Affective Skills:
We continued our work with curiosity to create "I Wonder" webs. The kids chose a question/topic of interest to research and present for our next class. Presentations will be short (1-2 minutes) and should include some type of visual (poster, drawing, diagram, diorama, video, Power Point, Sway, Chatterpix, comic strip, etc.).
We also continued our Mindfulness Practice with "Mindful Minute". This is short, but very effective in focusing on the present moment.
Novel Study:
We tried again on our Kahoot Jumble. It was a great way to review some prior chapters and learn a new format for this questioning activity. We also used our creativity and our books to do a fluency activity about all the annoying things a friend could do. The lists were pretty funny! We enjoyed reading a couple of chapters in our book. We just found out, the Mom in our story is MISSING!
